Eucalyptus- Can be used neat or diluted. Put a teeny dab
under your nose and breathe. You can feel it open those lungs right up. This is the FIRST thing I personally
grab if I have a goat with a cold or runny nose, or ear infection, and very often here I seen improvement within 2 hours.
Also has been used to prevent infections (including lungs), and discourage mosquitos, lice, mites, and is great for headaches/painful
joints/areas. I have used it on just born baby goats to get them to sneeze out fluids that were in their sinuses to help
open their breathing. Just dab a touch on- preferably diluted. It is considered anti viral and a bacterialcide. I
also use it for my teat wash and dip- 40 drops in a 1 quart spray bottle of water. Makes a GREAT fly, tick,
flea, lice spray as well.
Fir Siberian - Ah the fresh smell of the woods, this is a great oil
for cabin, outdoors feel, or holiday soaps. It is also acclaimed for arthritis and acne. Fir needles are also common
in scandinavian cooking, but just a drop diluted in the food please- not responsible for misuse.

Lavendar- We use this oil 'neat'
(straight). Lavendar is a great all around and no livestock kit is complete without it! External parasites
& ringworm hate it, in small amounts it is calming (we add a few drops in a spray bottle of water and
mist), in large amounts is awakening. Used on burns, cuts, inflammations (swellings), tired or achy, painful muscles/joints,
and more. We have used it straight (a drop) on as young as two day old goat kids. I used it once to kill
a jungle something growing in a cut on my hand that I brought home from Mexico. Also goat ear infection as a drop..
Great stuff. $14.50 a bottle.
Lemon- Dilute before use. Besides tasting good in your baking
(use just a drop or two) lemon has also been used for circulartory system health, colds, flu, vitamin c, respiratory
(remember the lemon and honey and vinegar mix your relative may have given you as a kid when you were sick), arthritis, acne
and many more things have been done with lemon.
Peppermint- Dilute before use. We've used this with great
success on udders along with mastitis treatment, and to help soften and recondition an udder damaged & edema'd by
a black widow bite. Mints of several kinds have long been traditionally used as a soothing tea, for headaches, and for
respiratory complaints. Antibiotic properties. GREAT at breaking up internal gas/bloat as well as udder congestion
and pain/headache relief. My mom always dosed us with a drop of mint oil and honey when we were sick (Be careful
it is HOT HOT HOT).
Rosemary- Dilute before use. Oh we love this herb! It is a circulatory
stimulant and anti inflammatory so good for bruises, stiffness, sore muscles and injuries. Good for the respiratory
as well as headaches (rub diluted on temples) and sore throats (gargle one drop in water). Great hair rinse or put in
your shampoo... Put a drop in your bath water and enjoy! So refreshing. This is another favorite
of mine for udder washes/teat dips.
Sweet Orange- Dilute before use. Besides baking and soap, sweet
orange is a great degreaser/cleaner. It also smells great and lifts the mood when a few drops are placed in the
well of a candle (place essential oil drops in BEFORE you light the candle), or place a few drops in some water steaming
on the woodstove or stove (you can do this with ANY oil).
Tea Tree- Can be used neat/straight. This is a another very safe
herb to learn on. I use diluted tea tree oil for udder washes, for teat dips (does not dry out the teats
unlike chemical preparations), for cuts and scrapes, udder pox, mild respiratory, fungal, infected goat ear,
etc. At shows, before I bring the goats home, I will dab each nostril with a touch of
tea tree. Prevents nearly all 'hacky coughies' after I return from a show or fair...
Thyme- Dilute before use. Not to be used internally without close
supervision and experience in use. This is a very strong and hot oil. Do not use this oil during pregnancy.
We offer white thyme which has been twice distilled to make it less irritating and less hot, but still retain the important
and balance in it's properties. This is one of the strongest known oil with antibiotic properties, so it
is well worth learning how to use. Aids digestion, very excellent reputation for lung issues, for convalescents,
immune system and nervous system stimulant. I have used this as well ( very diluted) to combat mastitis topically on
the udder.
